Birthday cake for a little monkey!

This past weekend one of our neighbour girls turned 1!

A marble cake was requested, and the theme? A pink monkey cake! How fun is that?

I baked up a two-layer 9" x 13" marble cakes and filled it with tasty vanilla buttercream. The cake was then iced in more vanilla buttercream and decorated with a fondant monkey and some colourful polka dots!

I hope you had an awesome first birthday!

  3. Did you use a special cutter for the monkey face, if so where did you find it. I love this cake by the way.

    1. Hey Marc!
I actually just printed off a picture that I found online, and then used a xacto knife to cut out the fondant after placing the picture on top as a template to follow. It helps if you roll out the fondant, and then let it sit for a couple minutes before cutting it, this will help avoid rips and tears!
and thank you so much! I had a lot of fun making this one :)

  6. After all, choosing a cake depends on several factors Birthday Card Pictures like the age of the birthday boy or girl, the type of celebration, the size of the cake required, etc.
