Ruffled Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake

Do you have any big exciting plans for Valentine's Day? Maybe a snazzy dinner out on the town? Or maybe you have decided to have a romantic and cozy night in with your someone special?  Regardless of how you wish to spend your Valentine's day this year, I think you need this cake to be a part of your plans.

This is a 3-layer 6" round cake. Perfect for two, or to completely demolish with your family on the 14th! It is made up of three layers of Devil's Food Cake (my husband's favourite) and filled with Strawberry Buttercream and Chocolate Ganache (just like chocolate covered strawberries! yum!).

I gave it a cute look by covering it in ruffled layers of fondant and then topping the whole thing off with some pink fondant roses.  This was the first time I have attempted both ruffled fondant and fondant roses, and I am super happy with the results. I think I will be using both again in the future!

If you would like some other ideas for Valentine's, here are some things I have made in the past:

Valentine's Oreo Truffles

Cupcakes for Valentine's Day

Lemon Hearts

Valentine's Day Cake

There are a ton of tutorials online about how to make fondant flowers and ruffles, but if you want to see how I made these ones just let me know!

I hope that everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day!
